Bylaw and Name Change Update

Dear Colleagues,

On July 25th, 2011, the Board for the National Association for Drama Therapy voted to approve specific changes to the bylaws of the organization. These included a proposal to change the name of our organization to the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADT Association) for greater inclusion of our Canadian Members.

On Friday, November 4th, 2011, at the annual membership meeting at the NADT Conference, a vote was held for the membership. Voting was also made available by absentee ballot and electronic voting.

We are pleased to announce that the bylaw changes were approved by well over the mandatory two-thirds approval of voting membership needed for the change to occur.

We are in the process of legally changing our Articles of Incorporation to reflect our name change. When this process is complete, we will make all other necessary change so that we will be officially identified as the North American Drama Therapy Association. We will keep you informed of when you can begin calling our organization by its new name. Until then, we will continue to be known by our current name.
