Post-Graduate and Alternative Training Programs
These universities and training centers offer courses in drama therapy that can be taken to fulfill the requirements of alternative training or as supplementary post-graduate training in specific methods and approaches to Drama Therapy.
Alternative training students are not limited to the schools on this list, but may find courses at other institutions and may take training courses at a number of different schools. Students who do not live near a training program may be able to complete their training by taking courses locally, on-line and through intensives. The Board Certified Trainer (BCT) is a member of the faculty of the National Association for Drama Therapy, and to ensure they receive credit toward the RDT (Registered Drama Therapist) requirements, current and potential alternative training students are encouraged to establish a relationship with a BCT, who will advise the student about course requirements and eligible coursework. Students are also encouraged to read the alternative training manual, to evaluate whether the course content and instructor's credentials meet the alternative training requirements. (Click here for more information on where to find alternative training courses.)
